Joist, girder or beam?
In North Indian trade, "joist" or "girder" usually means a lighter rolled I-section — often ordered by depth, for example a 125 × 70 or 150 × 75 joist. On a structural drawing the same member will carry an IS 808 designation such as ISMB, ISLB or ISJB. Where you have the drawing, use its designation; where you have a trade description, state depth, flange width and span.

What does ISI & TC mean?
ISI means the section carries the BIS certification mark — produced under licence to the Indian Standard. TC is the producer's test certificate for the lot. "ISI & TC" on an indent asks for both.
Is a joist the same as a beam?
A joist is a beam section — in trade usage, typically a lighter I-section. Use the IS designation from the drawing to avoid ambiguity.
Can joists be cut to span?
Share the spans and quantities; the requirement can be quoted in cut lengths or mill lengths.
