PPGL / Colour-Coated Sheets

What to specify for colour-coated sheets
- Substrate — PPGL (galvalume) or PPGI (galvanized) — and coating mass
- Paint system — RMP, SMP or PVDF — and top/back-coat thickness if specified
- Colour — producer shade name or RAL reference
- Thickness, and whether it is TCT or BMT
- Width, length (or coil) and quantity
- Producer preference and delivery location

Colour matching
Shades vary between producers even under the same colour name. For extensions to existing buildings or multi-phase projects, name the producer and shade used previously.

What is the difference between PPGL and PPGI?
PPGL is pre-painted on an aluminium-zinc (galvalume) substrate; PPGI is pre-painted on a zinc (galvanized) substrate.
Which paint system should I choose?
RMP suits most industrial buildings. SMP and PVDF are specified for better colour retention and harsher environments. Follow the project specification.
