Stainless Steel (SS) Sheets — 202, 304 & 316
MRP Enterprises supplies stainless steel sheets from Jindal Stainless in grades 202, 304 and 316 to fabricators, kitchen and food-equipment manufacturers, pharma and process-equipment makers, and architectural and interior contractors across Delhi NCR. Requirements are quoted against grade, thickness, sheet size, surface finish and quantity.

202, 304 or 316 — choosing the grade

Moving up from 202 to 304 to 316 improves corrosion resistance — particularly against chlorides — and raises the price. Choosing a lower grade than the environment needs causes rust staining and pitting; choosing a higher grade than needed adds cost without benefit.
The magnet test does not identify the grade
Austenitic stainless is essentially non-magnetic when annealed, but cold working — bending, rolling, forming — can make any of these grades slightly magnetic. A magnet cannot tell 202 from 304, or 304 from 316. Grade is confirmed by the mill test certificate and, where needed, by chemical analysis (PMI / spectro test).
Surface finish
Stainless sheets are specified by finish as well as grade — commonly 2B (cold rolled, smooth matt), No. 1 (hot rolled, annealed and pickled, for heavier thicknesses), BA (bright annealed, reflective), and polished finishes such as No. 4 / satin / hairline for visible surfaces. State the finish and whether a protective PVC film is required.
