GP Sheets
Galvanized plain sheets for ducting, enclosures and fabrication. MRP Enterprises supplies GP (galvanized plain) sheets — also ordered as GI sheets — for HVAC ducting, electrical enclosures and cable management, appliance parts and general fabrication. Sheets are quoted against coating mass, thickness, size, spangle, surface treatment and producer preference.

What to specify for GP sheets
- Coating mass — for example Z120, Z180, Z275
- Thickness (state whether it includes coating, if relevant), width and length
- Base-metal grade — general, forming or structural
- Spangle — regular, minimised or zero
- Passivation and oiling
- Skin-passed (GPSP) if required
- Quantity, producer preference and delivery location

HVAC ducting
Duct fabricators typically specify coating mass and thickness by duct size in the project specification. Send the specification sheet or BOQ with the quantity by thickness, and the requirement can be quoted as one consolidated order.
Painting and powder coating over GP
Where galvanized sheet is to be painted or powder coated, surface treatment matters. Passivation and oil can interfere with some paint systems; skin-passed GPSP gives a smoother finish. Tell us the finishing process and the sheet can be specified to suit it.

Standard numbers define the product and grade; they do not by themselves certify a supply. State the edition and certificate requirement on your purchase order.

GP Sheets — common questions
Is GP sheet the same as GI sheet?
In trade usage, yes — both refer to hot-dip galvanized flat sheet. State the coating mass and standard to define the product.
What does Z275 mean?
A total zinc coating mass of 275 g/m² on both sides combined. Higher numbers mean a heavier coating.
What is GPSP?
Galvanized plain skin-passed sheet — galvanized sheet given a light rolling pass for a smoother, more uniform surface.
