HR Plates
Structural, high-strength and pressure-vessel plates. MRP Enterprises supplies hot rolled plates for structural fabrication, heavy engineering, machinery, equipment and pressure parts. Weights are calculated from nominal dimensions at 7.85 g/cm³ and ignore corner and root radii. Producer tables and actual weights differ slightly because of radii and rolling tolerances.

What to specify for HR plates
- Grade, quality and standard — for example IS 2062 E350BR
- Thickness and plate size (width × length), or cut sizes with a cutting list
- Quantity — number of plates or MT
- Heat-treatment condition, if specified (for example normalised)
- Certification — MTC type and any third-party inspection
- Producer preference, if mandated by the client or consultant

Coil-cut plate or mill plate
Lighter plate thicknesses can be produced by cutting HR coil to length; heavier thicknesses come from a plate mill. Both can meet an IS 2062 grade, but specifications sometimes require plate-mill material, specific width, or through-thickness properties. If your drawing or client specification says so, include it in the enquiry.
Boiler-quality and pressure-vessel plate
Boiler and pressure-vessel plate is bought against a named specification — IS 2002, or an ASTM/ASME grade such as A516 Grade 70 — with full traceability. Send the data sheet or technical specification with the enquiry. See the IS 2002 guide.
Cut-to-size plates
For fabrication jobs, a cutting list is often more useful than a plate size. Send the cutting list or drawing and the grade; the requirement can be quoted as full plates or as cut pieces, depending on what is practical for the quantity.

HR Plates — common questions
What is the international equivalent of IS 2062 E250?
IS 2062 E250 is broadly comparable to ASTM A36, EN 10025 S235JR / S275JR and JIS SS400 — comparable in strength class, not identical. Send the specified grade and the equivalent IS grade is confirmed before quotation.
Is MS plate the same as HR plate?
In trade usage, yes. "MS plate" (mild steel plate) is the common term; the purchase specification should state the standard and grade, for example IS 2062 E250BR.
Can you supply plates with a mill test certificate and third-party inspection?
Yes, where the source provides it. State the MTC type and inspection agency requirement in the enquiry so the plates are sourced and documented accordingly.
Can you supply plates cut to size?
Send the cutting list or drawing. The requirement can be quoted as full plates or cut pieces depending on thickness and quantity.
Do you supply boiler-quality plates?
