Panels and enclosures
Electrical panel, control-cabinet and enclosure makers typically buy CRCA in CR0/CR1 at thicknesses suited to folding and powder coating. Where the panel builder's customer specifies a producer, include it in the enquiry — the substitution question is easier to settle before the order than after inspection.
Pressed and drawn components
For pressings, the grade should come from the part, not from habit. If a part is cracking or wrinkling, the grade or thickness tolerance is often the cause. Send the part drawing and current specification and the appropriate IS 513 grade can be quoted.
Primary or re-rolled CR
Primary CR comes from integrated producers' own cold-rolling and annealing lines; re-rolled CR comes from secondary re-rollers that cold roll purchased HR coil. Both can meet IS 513. Primary CR is the usual choice for visible panels, deep-drawn parts and customer-approved sources; re-rolled CR for general fabrication, tube making and narrow strip where it meets the specification. State your requirement — it changes the source and the price.

CR Sheets — common questions
What is the difference between primary and re-rolled CR?
Primary CR is cold rolled by integrated producers from their own HR coil; re-rolled CR is cold rolled by secondary re-rollers from purchased HR coil, often in narrower widths. Both are supplied to IS 513 — state which your application or customer requires.
What is the difference between CR and CRCA?
CR means cold rolled. CRCA means cold rolled close annealed — the annealed condition used for bending and pressing. In most enquiries, "CR sheet" refers to CRCA.
Which CR grade should I use for electrical panels?
CR0 or CR1 to IS 513 is the usual reference for folded panels. Confirm against your customer's specification.
Can I order CR sheet by gauge?
Please state thickness in millimetres. Gauge numbers are interpreted differently across systems and lead to incorrect quotations.
