IS 808 defines section series and their dimensions, sectional weight (kg/m) and properties. It does not define the steel grade — that comes from IS 2062. A complete structural order therefore names both: for example ISMB 200, IS 2062 E250.

Parallel flange beams and columns (produced by some primary producers) have their own designations — state them exactly as written in the drawing.
