Part 1 — forming and drawing grades
IS 513 (Part 1) grades run from CR0 to CR5, in increasing order of formability:

| CR3 | Extra-deep drawing |
| CR4 / CR5 | Interstitial-free (IF) and extra-deep-drawing, non-ageing grades for severe pressings |
Part 2 — high-tensile grades
Part 2 covers high-tensile, micro-alloyed and multi-phase cold rolled steels used where strength and weight reduction matter — typically automotive and engineering pressings.
Other parameters to state
- Surface finish (bright, matt) and surface quality
- Annealed (CRCA) or full-hard condition
- Oiled or dry
- Thickness in mm (avoid gauge numbers alone), width and length / coil ID and weight
