ZAM coatings add aluminium and magnesium to a zinc bath. For a given coating mass they typically offer improved corrosion resistance compared with conventional galvanizing, including better protection at cut edges — which is why ZAM is specified for components that are punched or cut after coating, such as solar mounting structures and cable trays.
What to specify
- Coating designation / coating mass (both sides)
- Substrate grade (forming or structural)
- Thickness, width, length or coil dimensions
- Surface treatment and oiling
- Brand, where the design has been validated on a specific producer's ZAM product
