IS 1161 — Steel tubes for structural purposes

Round steel tubes for structural use in light, medium and heavy classes, with YSt grades.

IS 1161 covers round tubes used as structural members — trusses, scaffolding, frames, columns and supports. Tubes are identified by nominal bore (NB) or outside diameter with a class (light, medium, heavy) and grade (YSt 210, YSt 240, YSt 310).

Where a structural drawing specifies a round tube by OD × thickness, quote those numbers directly rather than converting to a nominal bore.
